
Indonesian Jamu Juice
Jamu, Indonesia’s traditional wellness tonic, has been enjoyed for centuries for its powerful health benefits. Made with turmeric, ginger, black pepper, honey and other natural ingredients, jamu is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds that support immunity, ease digestion, and promote healthy circulation. Ingredients:

1 cup chopped, fresh organic turmeric (no need to peel)

3/4 cup chopped fresh organic ginger (no need to peel)

8 cups filtered water

1 cup raw honey

2 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup lemon or lime juice

Method:
1. Place turmeric, ginger and water in a blender or Thermomix. Blend on high for 30 seconds. Add the black pepper.
2. If using a blender, transfer mixture to stovetop, bring to boil and simmer for 20 mins on low heat. If using Thermomix, cook at 95 degrees for 3 mins on speed 3, then reduce to 70 degrees for 20 mins.
3. Remove from heat and strain through a fine sieve to remove pulp.
4. Once cooled to warm, add in honey and lime/lemon juice.
5. Transfer to glass bottles and store in fridge for up to 1 week.
Makes 2 Litres.
